A Time To Rejoice
We are so excited and grateful today! We had a 24 weeks party at the hospital for Justin, Rachael and Jimmie. By the way -- Jimmie is named after Justin’s late Grandfather and we (including Rachael and Justin) just found out he spelled his name with an “ie” not “y”. Oops.
Anyway-- we ordered pizza and Cathy brought a really cute ice cream cake that said “happy 24 weeks” and had a little teddy bear and a moon on it. Nate took a picture of it and then accidentally deleted it after we had already ate it.
Cole, McKenna and I made a poster for Rachael’s wall.
Words cannot express the relief and gratitude we feel to have made it up this precipice. All of you-- our “prayer warriors” have played a huge part in this miracle for us. Praise God!
“For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?-
The God who girded me with strength,
And made my way safe.
He made my feet like hinds’ feet,
And set me secure on the heights.” Ps. 18:31-33
Now that we are here we are desperate for more. 28 weeks would be really huge for Jimmie’s prognosis. The odds that he would make a full recovery if born at 28 weeks or after are very good. So lets pray for much much more. Full term would be the best and would be so awesome.
I know you are all rejoicing with us for this victory and in faith for more to come!
Love,
Amber
P.S. We got the news today that McKenna’s MRI showed no signs of that disease. Praise God! Today is a good day.

Hi Rachael,
ReplyDeleteI'm so thankful for the good news! We have alot of people praying for you. A man in my small group made the connection the other day when he saw those octuplets born at 30 weeks and how well they were doing. He said he was going to pray that for you. Also, this is just a side note that I thought was kind of fun. Josie is reading A Wrinkle in Time. Don read it to them a long time ago. She picked it off our shelf because she thought it looked interesting. In the car tonight she said she realized that she had seen the play. Hannah and I were momentarily confused. Then we figured out it was the ballet. Josie said the book was just like the ballet!!!! She said as she was reading it she kept picturing the scenes in the ballet. She especially liked how you changed dimensions. She remembered more about it than I did. Well, I thought that was fun and wanted to share it with you.
I love you!
Hi Rachael,
ReplyDeleteThis is Sandra...I miss seeing you and we think of you, and pray for you every day. When I was on strict bedrest for 3 1/2 months, limited bedrest for remainder of my pregnancy...I had so many people praying for me...and look at Ginny now!! Know that your TRUE identity is in Christ FIRST...not as a wife, mom, teacher, etc...but your identity is who you are in Christ...He loves you for YOU, and He longs for time with you...may you enjoy and be caught away in His presence and hear from heaven(Revelation 4:1)
We love you,
George, Sandra, Christian, Tory, Ginny&Katy
Rachael,
ReplyDeleteUncle Lin and I will be coming up soon to celebrate February birthdays. I was wondering if we might come and see you? We pray for you daily if not hourly. Our pray group at church has all 3 of you on their prayer list.
I have not commented much, but you do know that Uncle Lin and I are in deep prayer for a healthy baby boy.
We love you so much.
Love
Aunt Suzy and Uncle Lin

Love the pics!! Seeing your current abode is fun:) What a delightful recognition of the 24 week milestone. We'll keep picturing you and Jimmie right at the throne of God as we pray--onward to 28 weeks and beyond. Many, many blessings!
ReplyDeleteHi! I am an online friend of a reallife friend of yours and just wanted to encourage you... my 18 yo DD was born after a similar pregnancy... cerclage in place at about 14 weeks, labor started at 19... complete bedrest etc from that point on... by God's grace and my doctor's skill, she was not born till 35 weeks... and then the little snot would not breathe for 10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI know how great each day is, and remember the joy of reaching various milestones.
I truly believe the 109 days of boredom and discomfort were the best thing I've ever done.
We've been praying for you daily, and we are rejoicing with you at reaching this day! We miss you so much, but we are so glad you are still there! :-)
