Jimmie is growing! Look at his first onsie size compared to now!
Jimmie is doing better today! He hasn't been having high residuals and he's been more awake and energetic. He has had some poopy, but Rachael doesn't think that was it. She just thinks he's trying to adapt to this new schedule where they are asking more out of him. Sucking, swallowing and breathing is very hard work for him. So perhaps he was having some new schedule woes yesterday.
Yesterday morning when Rach came in Jimmie's nurse said, "I don't know WHAT we are going to do with your son! He was being a stinker in the night." (-: Apparently in the night the nurse noticed on the monitor he was really desating (low oxygen) so she went in there to see what was up and he had WRIGGLED OUT OF HIS HOOD all on his own! LOL! He did this twice!
Rachael thinks he may indeed be "a little stinker". The other day she put Jimmie down in his crib after he ate when she usually holds him for a couple of hours. She needed to make some phone calls though and you can't do that in the NICU. Well he was not happy that she put him down, Rachael said he threw a fit! NO not our sweet little Jimmie! LOL! Rachael thinks she may be creating a monster and spoiling him rotten by holding him so much. She's not gonna change a thing though! Poor little guy should STILL be in her belly.
He gained back the 2 ounces that he lost. He is 4 pounds 4 1/2 ounces!
Two more very good pieces of news:
1. He had his lab results today and his Hematocrit is on it's way back up! Yeah for "Crit Prayers"! And good for you Jimmie!
2. His oxygen needs have really dropped in that last couple of days. Rachael said it is really exciting. He's been at about 24% to 25% all day in his hood. That is just awesome!!
Rachael has 2 appointments next week with 2 different pediatricians so pray those go well and that she is finally able to find a Doctor for Jimmie.
Thank you so much for your words of prayer, care and support yesterday! It means a lot to us.
Love,
Amber
