Jimmies feeding issues!

Hi all this is Rachael! yeah I know I really exist.
So we decided to just do bottles for now. We went to the Neo appointment today (Amber will post about this later) Jimmie has fallen off his growth curve. The breastfeeding is very stressful and hard at the moment. So I decided that it will help both me and Jimmie to take a break. He had been talking the bottle with much less fuss and screaming (yeah he actually is not the little angel you might think :) I will still be pumping and hope to breastfeed at a later date.

This decision has come with tears and disappointment. We have to do what's best for Jimmie. Anybody that has had this kind of issue please let me know how you dealt with it. email racheudaly@yahoo.com

I do realize that some baby's just decided to not eat very well for a time, Jimmie however does not have that luxury, he has to gain weight well.

When I am having a hard time it really uplifts me to know how many people are praying for us thank you and don't quit. We still have a long road.
Much Love,
Rachael

  2. I can imagine how difficult this decision must of been but rest assured what matters most right now is that he gains weight. How it happens doesn't matter as long as it happens. You just can't blame yourself because you feel like you failed because YOU DIDN'T!

Praying for you all and for Jimmie!!!

  4. Breastfeeding is hard for something that is supposed to be natural. You are doing the best thing for Jimmie. He is still getting your milk and you can judge what his intake is now. Sounds like a win-win situation to me. Even if he eventually goes to formula it will fine! You are giving others the chance to feed him and bond with him. You are giving yourself a chance to rest so you can be a better mommy. Quit beating yourself up...it's okay. Watch him grown now...relax. You are doing a great job.

  5. Rachael, this is just a true test of what a great amazingly wonderful mom u are! You are sacrificing something YOU want to do, breastfeed, for Jimmie's best interest. I personally think one of the hardest things about being a mom is sacrificing things you don't want to selfishly to do what is best for your sweet little angel.

I thought it was hard to stop breastfeeding Josh at one when I was pregnant with Eli. It must be much greater for you. But, we need to count our blessings, so you are so lucky to have breastfed Jimmie at all considering the circumstances and challenges you both have faced since he arrived.

There is no advise I can offer, but know I think of you and want to see you soon :) and pray for you guys all the time. I know it's tough in these situations, but just be proud of the mom you have become! Jimmie is so lucky to have you as you are him. Your bond with him hasn't changed because you have stopped breastfeeding, it grows and shows in other ways.

Know how much I admire your strength!
    Love Natalie

  7. Rachel, so sorry to hear that! I thought jimmie was just having those "fussy feeding times" last week and that soon he will be back to normal. Hm, you are right though, he needs to eat well and gain consistantly! He is still getting YOUR MILK and that's GREAT! I know you miss the "special time" with him, plus it's the best and most practical in any way you look at it. So my prayer is that jimmie will soon start missing it too! And i'l pray those popular "chunky monkey prayers".
Hey Jimmie, come on, eat! And eat some more! No no, you are NOT DONE YET! Come on little man, GET FAT!!!

    Love,

  9. More prayers. Many of my friends have all of you in prayer, too.

I know it's hard to not to be able to breastfeed, but Jimmie will still get your love. That matters so much. And being able to step away and let others help is a good thing. Jimmie will know that the world is filled with wonderful loving people.

Come on, Jimmie, back to the business at hand.
