Brave Boy

Jimmie was admitted too late in the day today for them to run any major tests. The plan for now is to watch Rachael bottle feed him and then supplement the rest of his meal in a feeding tube. When they first put the feeding tube in earlier today Jimmie was pretty upset about it. Rachael said he screamed and screamed and it took 2 tries to get it in right.

The medical staff thinks Jimmie should be taking 116 mls. After a failed feeding they put that all in through his tube even though Rachael warned them that would not be a good idea. He ended up having a horrific puke. Puking everything including the tube. Now they are heeding Rachael and dripping in smaller amounts over an hour.

They may end up running some more tests tomorrow including a swallow test. Please pray for wisdom as Rachael and Justin advocate for Jimmie and make decisions.

Jimmie is not an infant anymore. He is very aware of his surroundings. In the last couple of days when someone talks to him while he's in Rachael's arms he plays shy and hides his face in her neck. So cute!!! But what this means is that he is very sad right now. It is very hard to see him back in the hospital. Rachael said he is being very brave, but she can see that he is very aware and affected by his circumstances. This is breaking our hearts.

Please pray this hospital stay would be effective and over quickly. Perhaps you all could pass the word along to your people to send up extra prayers right now for Jimmie and the whole family.

I took this picture the other day. I have some fun videos to upload, but I just don't have the heart tonight. Maybe tomorrow. This picture is more true to how we are all feeling right now anyway. )-:

Sheesh. I'm sorry this post is so "down". I think I can hear the violins in the distance. (-: I'm *almost* chuckling.

Lord please draw near to us with Your peace, grace and comfort . . .

  1. Praying he'll start eating well again and they can figure out what's going on and come up with a solution quickly!

  2. Praying for all of you, especially Jimmie. May God grant all of you strength and peace.

  3. Jason and I will be praying for little Jimmie, and all of you. I really hope they can get some things figured out. I know it's not uncommon for this to happen, but it still sucks. I love you and am praying.

  4. So sad, this post :( Poor baby! It is so hard to see our babies go through anything really in the hospital :( Praying for better day tomorrow, for some answers to his eating issues and for wisdom in solving them! Jimmie - you are "THE FIGHTER"!!! We know you are! We didn't forget it - all that you've been through!!! You gonna get through this as well and soon auntie Amber is gonna post lots of smily pics and videos of you here on this blog. Hang in there, we are praying...God is faithful...

  5. My thoughts are with Jimmie and your family. Our older child had terrible reflux and we went through the whole thing- I would spend all my waking hours trying to get him to take enough to stay hydrated... it took a long time and multiple visits with multiple specialists, but he is now 6 and eats the nasty cafeteria food at school- and loves it, and doesn't puke... hang in there.

  6. Praying for Jimmie and the rest of the family. Really hope they find out what is bothering him soon.

  7. Poor little guy. Our prayers are with you, as always. We're praying they figure out the best course of treatment quickly, and that it's easy and painless! We love you so much!!!

    Lots of love and prayers,
    Adrian and Janelle

  8. I think you have done the right thing by taking him to the hospital. I know they will figure this out and he will be better soon. You guys have tried everything on your own, now it is time to let go and let God. Jimmie may not be happy but no one is when they are in the is a neccessary evil. Try to rest he will be home very soon and you will need your strenght to play with him. You are in my prayers.

  9. Rachael I can feel how he feels I think the Younger side of the family has a lot of stomach problems. I had been having so much reflex and couldn't get rid of it was making my throat feel like I wasn't getting enough air in it. When went to ENT doctor put scope down and said inflamed because of the reflex so made it swollen, besides making my stomach feel like it was bruised all the time. It takes a while to come so they will no what to do the tube may be best for him. After you feed him do you lay him down try sitting him up for a couple hours after eating my bed has to elivated and I can lay down for 2 hours after eating. If I do I can feel it coming up. Keep well I no I'm an adult but have messed with this for some time and it never helps to even lay down an hour after I eat. Thinking and praying for all of you.

  10. Sorry I can't lay down for 2 hours after eating.

  11. We will put Jimmy back on our Blue River prayer warriors list. Shannon and I are praying, as well, that this will be resolved soon, and his little throat and tummy will be healed.

    Denise & Shannon F.

  12. Praying that the doctors find the problem and fix it. May Jesus bless Jimmie and his whole family. Prayers are coming.

  13. Praying for all of you.
