Back to Breast Milk (Again)

Short update- Jimmie is the same. Mostly just eating with his tube. The formula has not made a difference. Rachael took him off of it and put him back on the breast milk. He is still either fighting a cold, a reaction to the tube or an allergy with lots of mucous. He had so much mucous in his nose and the back of his throat last night he had a scary choking episode where he wasn't breathing well for some seconds and ended up throwing up. Today after switching him back to all breast milk he doesn't seem to have as much mucous. Rachael doesn't know if that is a coincidence or not . .? She really just wants the "big guns" amino acid formula". She's going to call the Neo tomorrow to ask if they can just prescribe that since this other formula hasn't done anything other than possibly create a lot of mucous.

Besides the mucous issues and not eating by mouth Jimmie is doing good. In fact his reflux has seemed much less recently, so lets hope that keeps up! I asked if his reflux improvement coincided with the new formula .? She doesn't think so, but if his reflux comes roaring back with the switch back to breast milk she'll take that in to account. Obviously she feels that her breast milk with all of it's built in immunities is the best thing for him. Though she is willing to try the formula for babies with an allergy if they'll just prescribe it.

Jimmie had a fun outing today that I'll blog about tomorrow when I get the pictures to go with it!
