Tummy Troubles

Jimmie is kind of having an off day with his tummy. He's thrown up a few times after he's eaten and doesn't act that interested in his food. Rachael said he's not really acting sick in any other way though, so that's good. Babies do just have days like that normally, but it's just a bit more worrisome in Jimmie. Unfortunately when the home health nurse came yesterday she weighed Jimmie and he hadn't gained anymore weight since Friday. He was still 5 lbs 6 oz. So pray for his tummy and pray your chunky monkey prayers. Jimmie will be weighed again on Friday by his nurse and we are hoping for some good weight gain.

I'll post an update again tomorrow with some pictures my cousin Tiffany took from the shower.

Thank you for your prayers!

Love,
Amber

  1. More prayers coming. This can still be very normal, and as long as he's not losing I think he will be okay. My oldest was really collicky and would frequently spit up. We used to rub her tummy and rock her and that seemed to help. Now there were times it would be 30 minutes or longer, but that's part of the deal. It's not until the last month of pregnancy that the "average" baby gains a half pound a week. If I remember right prior to that it's much less. My youngest lost several ounces after she was born, and hadn't even gained them back at two week. The doctor told me I was abusing her! We ended up changing docs, and the family practitioner reminded me that every child is different and that she and her twin brother could never be alike.

We keep praying. My friends loved the Wonderful World montage. I emailed the link to them!

  2. Maddy had issues with this too. it would freak me out because it seemed like she was puking up everything she ate! it lasted a few days, and then went away. she doesn't sleep laying flat anymore, because we noticed that made it way worse. we got her a thing called a "nap nanny" and she loves it! she sleeps great on it, and doesn't spit up when she sleeps anymore. i will definitely be praying chunky monkey prayers for jimmie and tummy ones too. rach, if this keeps happening maybe look into a nap nanny?? it's www.napnanny.com. i wouldn't trade ours for anything.
